Government Polytechnic, Dahod  celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2014. Staff and students participated with great enthusiasm. The Celebration begun with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony. Honourable Principal, Government Polytechnic, Dahod unfurled the National Flag at the Institute. Staff and Students saluted the Tricolour on the occasion. It was followed by recitation of National Anthem "Jan Gan Man...". Principal, Government Polytechnic, Dahod addressed the audience on this occasion. He emphasized the role of technical education for the development of the poor and downtrodden. Principal's address was followed by a parade by our students. Thereafter staff and students joined a rally organized for public awareness

Saptadhara Activities like elocution, sheri natak, patriotic song recitation, etc have been carried out as a part of celebration . After the rally, students expressed their views on the themes like "Women Empowerment" and "Role of Technology in National Development" as part of an elocution. Elocution was followed by  recitation of patriotic songs by students. After patriotic songs, a sheri natak on the theme "Corruption" was performed by students. It was really entertaining and thought provoking. After the performance of the drama, staff and students played "garba."  We also did tree plantation on the occasion to make environment hygienic. The celebrations ended with the recitation of the National Song "Vande Mataram..."

Government Polytechnic, Dahod organised a Poster Making on the theme 'Women Empowerment.' Students participated in the event and prepared posters. The posters were also displayed open as an exibition. Following is one sample of the posters prepared by our students.

Government Polytechnic Dahod welcomes all stakeholders of the institute. This is the first issue of the G P DAHOD NEWSLETTER which was launched as a part of the IGNITE programme by Media and PR Cell of the institute. Media and PR Cell has taken several initiatives which includes creation of a Blog, a Facebook Page, and an Android Application of the Institute to reach to all the stakeholders. This will help a lot to students, teachers, parents, alumni, industry, university, and government to know what is happening in the institute. It aims to cater the necessary information to all who are associated/concerned with Government Polytechnic Dahod. Media and PR Cell further aims to publish it Quarterly in the beginning and Monthly later on.
